Pleasant Hill, Oregon - Richard Keith "Dick" Burleson, 86, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family, on May 18, 2026. He was born on January 9, 1940 in Phoenix, Arizona.

Dick was preceded in death by his siblings, Sybil Burleson and Gene Burleson. At the age of 17, he joined the United States Marine Corps, and proudly served in the infantry from 1957 to 1960 as a recognized war veteran.

After his military service, Dick started a family and became the proud father of Richard "Butch" Burleson and Donna Burleson. He worked and owned Burleson Carpet and Flooring for many years, and also spent time working in insurance sales.

In 1982, Dick married Marie Evelyn "Eve" Walter in Springfield, Oregon. Through their marriage, he gained stepsons Gary Walter and David Walter. Together they built a life on their farm in Pleasant Hill, Oregon, where they raised Morgan horses.

Dick had a deep love for animals and a passion for adventure. He raced endurance horses and loved the freedom of flying and hang gliding. After earning his ultralight pilot's license, he often traveled along the West Coast enjoying the skies and the open air.

Known for his adventurous spirit, Dick was an adrenaline junkie with an adventurous spirit. He will always be remembered for his spunk, his wit, and humor he brought to those around him.

He will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew and loved him.

A graveside service will be held at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, located at 36367 OR-58, Pleasant Hill, Oregon on Friday June 5th, 2026 at 2pm, with a Celebration of Life immediately following.
